Gambia Project!
Hi There! My name is Nupur and I'm 24 years old. I am currently part of the Langley and Iver Rotaract and have decided to take part in the Rotaract Overseas Project. This involves a team being comprised of other people from various Rotary and Rotaract clubs that travel to less developed countries and find a project to work on. In the past, the Rotaract Overseas Project have refurbished an orphanage in Romania and a school in Benin amongst other things.
I will be going to the Gambia in January 2009 to take part in a charity project. I will be going with a group of 13 people and we will be building sanitation facilities, water supplies and help build a perimeter around a clinic to protect against animal fouling. It will definitely be an experience like nothing else before working and living in very very basic conditions without the luxury of hot water showers, comfy beds and the usual toilet facilities! In order for our team to raise our overall target of £12,000 (this cost is excluding our own personal costs and travel expenses), I would be very grateful if you could donate an amount towards helping our project so that we are able to provide a better future for the local people of The Gambia. Many Thanks! For more information on the project, you can visit the website: http://www.rotaract.org.uk/index.php?cat=content&page=cms&CatID=43 You can contact me on: 07515 271 755 or email me on nupurmehrotra@yahoo.com if you have any queries! Please read my diary every so often to see what fund-raising events I will be holding in the near future and don't forget too add a comment in my guestbook! To donate, click on the donate link on this main page and thanks again! |
